About the Trans-Wa Lending Library

The Trans-Wa Lending Library currently has a collection of over 350 books all written by and/or relating to trans and gender expansive people. Our library offers a safe place for trans and gender expansive people to connect with one another through stories and community. We help gender expansive people feel less alone. We financially support and uplift trans and gender expansive authors so that more of our stories can be recorded for future generations. In a time when trans history is intentionally being erased, these efforts are more important than ever! We offer a place where allies can come to learn how to support the trans and gender expansive people in their lives. Our library is a place for trans and gender expansive people to be seen, accepted, and celebrated.

Library Accessibility

The Trans-Wa Lending Library is located in the Catalyst Therapies building. If you enter the building through the main entrance and take an immediate u-turn to your left you will see the library. There is usually someone at the Catalyst Therapies reception desk. You do not have to check-in with them to enter the library though they might ask if they can help you to make sure you’re not waiting for an appointment.

There are two accessible, gender neutral bathrooms available.

Libraries are for everyone! If you have any accessibility questions or requests, please contact us at serin@transwa.org.

Beyond the Binds TGE Book Club

Trans-Wa’s Beyond the Binds Book Club aims to foster a safe, inclusive, and empowering space for trans and gender-expansive (TGE) individuals to explore literature by and about TGE people. The primary goal of this group is to create a supportive community that promotes understanding, self-expression, and solidarity through literature.
